We’ve been having a great summer here at Crosbie Towers.  We’ve even been able to pretend it’s sunny!  Our summers here just wouldn’t be the same without our events at the Wallace Lounge.  Everyone has worked really hard to make sure that there’s something for all the family so we wanted to share a few of our highlights.

Our ‘Night at the Races’ with the Crosbie Grand National was a big hit.  The Wallace Lounge looked fantastic; we could almost believe we were at Aintree for the real thing!  We had a wonderful entertainer in Graham Kerr and lots of you told us what a great job the lounge staff did on the night.

On 28th May we had a visit from Norman Boyd, a fantastic singer and comedian.  A great night was had by all.

The highlight of the season so far for us had to be the Michael Bublé and George Michael duo show on 23rd July.  The event sold out with tickets in huge demand.  The guys put on a great show and we were really pleased to see so many of you up and dancing.  We even had the lovely Wendy joining George at the microphone for a brilliant rendition of ‘Valerie’!  This is the third year running that they’ve been to see us and we hope there will be many more.

We barely had time to pause for breath before it was time for our Family Fun Day and Scottish Night on 30th July.  It was great to see so many kids throwing themselves into hill runs, welly throwing and the sack race, before getting mum and dad involved in the parent and child relay race.  Thanks too to the adults who took part in the cross country race and heavy weight highland games.  We also saw some beautiful painted faces courtesy of Funtastic Party Creations.

The Tony Cougan duo provided us with some kilt swinging entertainment in the evening before we rounded off the weekend with a family barbecue on Sunday.  We had a great time and we were glad to hear that you did too.

Somehow, we’ve even found time for karaoke, an evening of ‘Play Your Cards Right’, rock n’ roll bingo, baking, arts & crafts with Izzy and Sadie and the big Crosbie quiz.

Now we see it all written down, we’re about ready for a rest, but there’s more to come.  We’ll be welcoming Craig Swan for some great live cabaret over the Bank Holiday weekend.  Our Country and Western night is on 24th September before our grand finale to finish off the season in style.

We want to thank all of you who’ve come along and taken part over the summer.  We’d have no fun at all without you!  If there are any activities that you love and you’d like us to lay on in the future, please let us know.

We’ll see you down the road.
